Gatorade was made for the California Gators in 1950 they were a football team. Later it was found out that that half of the Gators failed the drug tests. Gatorade contained small amounts of steroids. Gatorade companies covered up the steroids by labling them as electrolytes. They were banned in 1952 and came back in 1968, but still use "electrolytes" but they are only used in small amounts. Gatorade still uses them today but some football players and sports players fail the drug test.
